Juxtaposing traditional and modern sensibilities, Farbanish combines classical vessel forms with unconventional embellishments in his large scale, wall-mounted sculptures. The "handles," which seem to float next to the vessel forms, are fashioned from sheets of cut, shaped, and layered aluminum, and are often painted with abstract patterns and drawings using vibrant colors and gestural brushstrokes.
