Julia Ricketts

Glass artist Nancy Callan and painter Julia Ricketts created a suite of new works for their exhibition, "She Said, She Said". The artists co-designed sculptural works in blown glass, some of which were created during a residency at the Museum of Glass in April 2010. A number of pieces are inspired by the body and develop a theme of communication and sensory experience. Vivid primary colors and subtle textures create a strong dialogue between the glass and paintings. This is the pair's third collaborative exhibition.

Julia Ricketts is a Seattle painter with a long history of exhibitions in the Northwest. Her work explores color relationships and an abstract vocabulary of form that is modernist in origin. Her work is in the collections of Microsoft, the Tacoma Art Museum, Seattle City Light, and 4 Culture. Ricketts currently teaches painting and drawing at the Gage Academy of Art. Her solo work can be seen at Patricia Cameron Gallery in Seattle.
