William Traver
Founder
William Traver was born in Seattle in 1942. He attended Cornish College of Allied Arts from 1963 to 1965 where he studied design and fine arts. In 1977, The doors to Traver Gallery opened in Belltown, initially featuring painting (most notably his professors and colleagues from Cornish such as Paul Heald and Don Scott), but Bill has always been open to installation and different media. While he has maintained major painters and one of the strongest rosters of ceramic artists on the West Coast, he has attained a world-wide reputation by helping to forge the international Studio Glass Movement. Many of the most important contemporary glass artists - Lino Tagliapietra, Sonja Blomdahl, Dante Marioni and many others - had their first exhibitions with Traver Gallery. Traver Gallery is now the largest art dealer in Seattle. In addition to his gallery, Bill studies and teaches yoga and enjoys spending his free time on his sailboat, the Sarah.

Sarah Traver
President
Sarah joined her father in business in 2004. As President, she works on all facets of the gallery—from strategy and sales to design and installation. With degrees in art and education, she works to keep us focused on the gallery's mission as a space for learning, the sharing of ideas, and insight. She is beloved by our artists, clients, and community for her sincere interest and generous spirit. Sarah also serves on the board of Artist Trust and Pratt Fine Arts Center. When she is not working, she can most likely be found playing in the wilds of Washington or trying out a new restaurant in Seattle or abroad.

Jeffery Kuiper
Sales Director
Jeffery, a native of Michigan, received his formal training and earned a BFA degree in painting and art history from Western Michigan University. His professional art career began in 2005, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with his directorial debut at Turner Carroll Gallery. He later went on to become the director of contemporary painting and sculpture at Davidson galleries, and director of Seattle Art Resource, a division of Greg Kucera LLC. A vital member of the Seattle arts community, Jeffery brings years of experience in sales as well as a passion for fine arts, design, food, wine, hiking, and meditation.

Margo Beaver
Gallery Manager
Margo comes to us with years of experience in the arts community, most recently as the Events and Exhibitions Assistant at Pilchuck Glass School. She holds an MFA in Arts Leadership from Seattle University and has years of clay experience as well. We are thrilled to have Margo on our team!

Tony Wolverton
Shipping Manager and Preparator
Tony has been the shipper and Preparator at the Traver Gallery since 1985. He brings an artist's eye to his work at the gallery, from working with artists on the design and installation of all of our exhibitions to packing and shipping artworks around the world. Tony knows the gallery inside and out; he is familiar with every piece of artwork that passes through our doors and every installation we've mounted. In addition to being a brilliant designer and shipper, Tony is a wonderful friend. With his infectious laugh and great sense of dedication, he is at the heart of everything we do here.

Ben Lerman
Photographer and Assistant Preparator
Ben has been the Photographer and Assistant Preparator at Traver Gallery since 2010. When not installing art, photographing, editing, cataloguing, and updating our websites, Ben is a professional photographer in his own right. His work has been shown in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Ben has been published in THE Magazine and New Mexico Magazine, as well as Fraction Magazine's group show No.5, The Un-Natural Nature of Food, curated by Melanie McWhorter. He received his BFA in photography from the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California.
